5.The forging equipment of titanium forgings
The forging equipment of titanium and titanium alloy includes electric air hammer, steam hammer, hydraulic press, fast segment machine, etc.
Electric air hammer is easy to use and operate, but its tonnage is small. It is mainly used for forging small and medium-sized forgings.
The steam hammer works with 7-9kg /cm2 steam or 6-8kg /cm2 compressed air. The tonnage of steam hammer can be much larger than that of electric air hammer, which can be divided into three types: single arm type, arch type and bridge type.
Hydraulic press is a kind of forging equipment which deforms metal with static pressure. Compared with hammer, it has the following advantages: small vibration, safe operation, improvement of working conditions of workers, improvement of forging permeability, high energy utilization rate, and good for temperature and quality of forging. Hydraulic press is a good main forging equipment for titanium and titanium alloy large forgings.
